A Virtual Race for Autism Race Report

I signed up for The Virtual Race for Autism hosted by Alica at Alicia Runs a few weeks back and for some reason thought that tomorrow was the 10th, so I planned to double up and race the 5K I had scheduled for tomorrow as my virtual race as well, but I noticed that today was in fact the 10th and I needed to finish my virtual race today and get my post up in order to participate in this great virtual event. I decided that I would just go out for a nice easy 3.1, not push it too hard, but um...I didn't do that..I pushed it, and I pushed it hard! Here's how it broke down (average paces):

Mile 1: 08:15
Mile 2: 08:57
Mile 3: 08:54
last point 1: 7:30 (yeah, that was my kick to just finish the darn thing)

So as you can see, I went out WAY too fast, but amazingly I was able to maintain a sub 9 average pace throughout! I am very happy with my result!

Here is the official Garmin photo:And here I am post race (yes, I look horrid I just left it all out on the trail, remember? Plus, I have had 5 kids..this body is pretty stretched out from all of that! And you can't see the number on my race bib...which is 7 for the number of people in my family, 5 kids..2 parents):
I hope I can run as well tomorrow in my race in the morning! Thanks for the opportunity participate in this fun virtual race. It definitely pushed me to run harder than I would have today!
